Primary Responsibilities:
- Meticulously review technical documents, including user manuals, API documentation, white papers, training guides, and online help resources.
- Identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting.
- Ensure consistent use of terminology and style across all documentation.
- Collaborate with technical writers, subject matter experts, and developers to resolve ambiguities and improve document accuracy.
- Track and manage revisions using version control systems.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of style guides and editorial standards.
- Format documents for print and online publication.
- Suggest improvements to the overall clarity, organization, and effectiveness of technical documentation.
- Manage project deadlines efficiently.
- Help with other document types, when needed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven background as a technical editor or copy editor, preferably in a software development environment.
- Mastery of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style, The Chicago Manual of Style).
- Knowledge of technical terminology related to software, hardware, and networking.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Strong organizational and time-management proficiencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
